All-Inclusive Tackle & Gear
The Catch of a Lifetime
Your
Gear Up Without The Hassle
At Amazon Xtreme Fishing, we take care of the details so you can focus on the thrill of the catch. Our all-inclusive packages provide guests with top-of-the-line tackle and lures, carefully selected to maximize your success in the Amazon's unique fishing environment. From durable rods to precision-crafted lures designed to attract the prized Peacock Bass, we've got you covered. Leave the packing stress behind—our expert team ensures that every piece of equipment is ready for action, allowing you to experience the ultimate fishing adventure with ease and confidence.

At Amazon Xtreme Fishing, we provide a full tackle kit at no extra cost to ensure a hassle-free fishing experience for our guests. This includes Shimano Curado 300 baitcasting reels spooled with 80lb braided line. Our gear is refreshed every season to maintain high standards, though specific brands and models may vary. With this all-inclusive setup, you'll have reliable equipment ready to tackle the challenges of Peacock Bass fishing.
For those who prefer to bring their own gear, we recommend baitcasting or spinning reels, which pair perfectly with our rods. Fly fishing enthusiasts are welcome to bring their own tackle, as we do not supply fly fishing gear. Most fly tackle can be carried onboard, but hooks must be packed in checked baggage for security purposes. Whether using our equipment or your own, we aim to make your fishing adventure seamless and unforgettable.
We equip our guests with high-performance TFO long-handled, medium-heavy action rods. These rods are specifically designed to deliver the backbone needed for setting hooks and handling the powerful fights of Peacock Bass. Paired with our SHIMANO Curado series baitcasting reels, featuring a high-speed retrieve ratio, this combination allows for the rapid lure action required to attract these aggressive fish.
If you prefer to bring your own reels, we recommend packing at least two, as the intense fishing conditions can sometimes strip the gears of even the sturdiest equipment. While spinning models are an option, most anglers find casting rods superior for precise, direct presentations. The accuracy of a level-wind casting reel far outshines the high, arched lob of a spinning reel, ensuring your casts land exactly where the fish are biting.

Suggested reels, medium to medium-heavy to heavy largemouth bass tackle good-quality reels of at least 100+ yards capacity with high-speed retrieve ratios. For lines, we suggest "Power Pro" in 65 to 80 pound or other brands of similar braided line. Steel leaders are not required while fishing for peacocks.
High quality rods and reels tackle is available at NO EXTRA COST to anglers, except in the case that you break the rod, there is a $250 for replacement that fee is paid directly to the onsite host.

At Amazon Xtreme Fishing, we know that the right lures can make all the difference in your fishing success. That's why we offer exclusive lure kits curated by our expert guides who fish these waters daily. These kits include a well-balanced mix of surface lures, divers, and other hard baits—the best of the best for maximizing your fishing action.
Our lure kits are provided free of charge to our valued guests on hosted trips, ensuring you have everything you need for an unforgettable fishing experience. Please note that custom-tied jigs, a popular option for targeting Peacock Bass, are available for purchase separately at the destination. Below, explore some of the essential lures that have proven to be game-changers for Peacock Bass fishing!

Yo-Zuri Minnows are a time-tested favorite among anglers targeting Peacock Bass. These versatile lures are expertly designed to rise subtly during pauses, making them incredibly effective in enticing strikes. Their unique wide wobble action shines during steady retrieves, while their adaptability allows for effective use with stop-and-go techniques or as a subsurface jerk bait.
One of their standout advantages is their reliability as a follow-up lure. If a surface lure strike misses its mark, casting a Yo-Zuri Minnow into the fray can often turn a near miss into a thrilling catch. Available in a vibrant array of bright color combinations, these lures not only catch fish but also the attention of any angler looking for a dependable addition to their tackle box.

High Roller Baits have earned their reputation as a go-to choice for targeting the powerful Giant Amazon Peacock Bass. Renowned for their efficiency and unique design, these surface propeller baits stand apart from others on the market. With their distinctive sliding action and rapid swimming motion, they expertly mimic the frantic movements of a fish either fleeing or hunting on the water's surface, triggering explosive strikes from aggressive predators.
What sets High Roller Baits apart is their exceptional balance and versatility, offering anglers an array of techniques to maximize their success. Designed to handle the challenge of these ferocious fighters, these lures promise not only a highly effective fishing experience but also unforgettable moments as you battle one of the Amazon's most thrilling sport fish.

The Rapala X-Rap and Borboleta are premium lures that excel just below the water's surface (0-4'), offering anglers a versatile tool for the Walk-The-Dog technique. Whether you're fishing in calm conditions or battling choppy, rough waters, these lures maintain their radical movements, ensuring consistent action that attracts even the most elusive fish.
With their unique swimming motions and vibrant colors, the X-Rap and Borboleta lures create an irresistible presentation that entices strikes, especially during follow-up casts. Perfect for any water conditions, these lures are designed to draw out Peacock Bass and other predators with every retrieve.

The Zara Spook is a surface fishing bait known for its distinctive Z-shaped motion, making it highly effective at attracting large Peacock Bass. Its powerful rattling sound grabs the attention of nearby predators, drawing them in for an explosive strike.
Not only does the Zara Spook generate intense surface action, but it also serves as an excellent follow-up bait after a missed strike from a propeller-type lure. When used in combination with other surface lures, the Zara Spook maximizes your chances of landing that big catch.

The Jumping Minnow is an iconic lure known for its remarkable versatility and action. With a proven track record of catching countless fish, its unique movement can be adapted in various ways to trigger strikes from even the most elusive Great Peacock Bass.
Whether it's worked as a wounded fish, a zig-zag swimmer like a Zara Spook, or a jumping bait simulating a fish on the run, the Jumping Minnow produces a highly realistic presentation that drives predators into a frenzy. This is the classic jumping bait that has inspired countless similar lures, and its reputation for exciting strikes remains unmatched in the world of fishing.

The Borboleta Tunao excels in long-distance casts, offering a hydrodynamic shape that glides smoothly through the water. This design mimics the movement of prey—making it a prime choice for enticing Amazon Peacock Bass and other large predators.
Its natural swimming action is perfect when the fish are less responsive to surface lures, providing a subtle yet effective presentation. Whether you're casting across long stretches of water or working a difficult bite, the Borboleta Tunao stands as one of the best options to get the attention of even the most cautious predators.

The Inna Pro Tuned is a mid-water bait specifically designed to target large Peacock Bass in the Amazon. Its exceptional rattling feature creates vibrations that travel great distances, drawing in fish even from areas that are out of direct casting reach.
This bait's ability to attract fish from afar makes it an essential tool in your tackle box, especially when targeting big fish in deeper waters or when visibility is limited. The Inna Pro Tuned delivers the perfect balance of sound and movement, ensuring you stay ahead in the game.

The Perversa is a highly effective subsurface bait, ideal for attracting medium to large fish in the Amazon. Its unique, erratic swimming action mimics a struggling fish, creating a natural movement that draws in distant predators.
This bait's lifelike action makes it especially potent when targeting Peacock Bass and other predatory fish, as its unpredictable movement triggers instinctual strikes from fish looking for an easy meal. The Perversa is a must-have for anglers looking to make an impression in deeper waters.

Our handmade jigs are carefully crafted with the ideal weight and color combinations to target Monster Peacock Bass in the Amazon. Streamers on sinking lines are highly effective for targeting larger Peacock Bass. Popular options include 6-inch (5/0) bi-colored, heavily-dressed bucktails in combinations like red/yellow, olive/white, black/white, and orange/black. Patterns like Big Deceivers, Bunnies, Saltwater Zonkers, and Clouser Minnows with plenty of Flash-a-bou or Crystal Flash are also top performers.
Saltwater poppers, such as Gaines poppers in red/yellow and pearl/olive, deliver exciting action but can be tiring to cast over time. For clear-water conditions, 'sliders' and Popovic's 'Silicone Mullet' in olive/white are exceptional choices.
For Peacock Bass fishing, fast-action fly rods are ideal. They efficiently load sinking lines and provide the necessary "backbone" to handle powerful fish. It's wise to bring at least two rods, as the intense conditions of the Amazon can cause equipment failures. While reels don't need excessive backing due to shorter runs by Peacock Bass, a smooth, strong drag system is critical for control.
Recommended setups include:
Heavy Fly Rod & Reel: A stiff, fast-action 9-foot, nine or ten-weight rod (e.g., Sage 990-3RPLX) paired with a Scientific Anglers 'System 2-89' reel for larger fish.
Medium-Heavy Fly Rod & Reel: A stiff, fast-action 9-foot, seven-weight rod (e.g., Sage 790-3RPLX) with a Scientific Anglers 'System 2-78' reel for targeting smaller fish.

Sinking lines are far more effective than floating ones for targeting Peacock Bass. The Teeny '300 T-Series/Sink Tip', suitable for rods ranging from seven to ten weight, is the top recommendation. A close second is the Scientific 'Uniform Sink V' full sinker. It's also wise to carry a floating line for poppers and sliders. Lines with a drastic weight-forward taper, like the Scientific Anglers 'Mastery Saltwater Tarpon', are ideal for casting wind-resistant poppers effectively.
A small cotton minnow seine is invaluable for keeping your fly line free of tangles in the boat's seats, floorboards, or rods. Peacock Bass aren't leader-shy, so most anglers use a straight six-foot shot of 40–50 lb monofilament leader material. Lighter leaders won't stand a chance against a 15-pound bass running into underwater obstacles. Due to the bass's abrasive teeth, you'll need plenty of leader material; a 1/2-pound spool of Ande 'Tournament' monofilament is recommended. For IGFA record attempts, follow their leader specifications and check the latest regulations.
