Sucunduri River System
Located in the Lower Amazon region of southern Amazonas, the Sucunduri is a tributary of the Canuma River, which drains into the Madeira River. Its channels, lakes, and lagoons support peacock bass, arapaima, arowana, apapa, matrinxa, tambaqui, bicuda, payara, jatuarana, redtail catfish, piraiba, cachara, caparari, and jundia. The dark, warm, acidic water also limits mosquito activity during the high season.
A Fishery Selected for Performance
Sucunduri was developed around a river system selected for its productivity, diversity, and seasonal characteristics. Experienced guides operate complete boats for two anglers with 30 HP outboards, electric motors, unrestricted fishing fuel, coolers, swivel seating, and safety equipment.
A Complete Jungle Lodge
Sucunduri accommodates up to 26 guests in comfortable double rooms with air conditioning, minibars, private bathrooms, quality bedding, and daily housekeeping and laundry service. Its private 1,100-meter airstrip provides direct access to this remote river system.
The lodge operates in harmony with the forest through a working vegetable garden, effective sewage and waste treatment, a certified well with high quality water, and guided ecological tours.
Shared spaces include an air conditioned restaurant, satellite television and internet, a swimming pool with hydromassage, Amazon deck, kiosk, barbecue area, and welcoming social spaces for relaxing after fishing.
Into the Southern Amazon
The all inclusive journey includes a round trip charter flight between Manaus and the lodge. It also includes two nights of double occupancy accommodation in Manaus and scheduled ground transportation between the airport, hotel, and charter departure point.
At Sucunduri, the program includes five fishing days, double occupancy lodging, full board meals, desserts and snacks, unlimited beer, soda, juice and water, unrestricted fishing fuel, one fully equipped boat and guide per pair, housekeeping, laundry service, and white bait when available.
